FGI Canada Ltd. warrants the original consumer purchaser for 5 years from the date of purchase that its cabinets will be free of defects in the materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty is only applicable to products used in residential applications and is non-transferable and applies only to the original residential installation.

What does the warranty cover?

During the warranty period, FGI Canada Ltd. will repair or replace, at its option, any cabinet or part thereof that is covered by this warranty. FGI Canada Ltd. is constantly changing and improving its product offerings and, as such, exact replacements may not be available. If a warranty claim is filed after a product becomes obsolete or discontinued, we will replace the affected component with a new component of the same or similar style based on availability. If products or components are replaced under this warranty, FGI Canada Ltd. does not guarantee that the finish of the replacement products or components will exactly match the finish and appearance of the products or components in the residential application. This is due to the changes that occur during the wood’s natural aging process, affecting its color and grain.

What This Limited Warranty Does Not cover

The following are not covered and void the warranty for the product: (i) wear and tear; (ii) damage or defects caused by misuse, vandalism, abuse, negligence, alteration, abnormal use, non-residential use; (iii) accidental damage, damage in transit or prior to or during installation; (iv) effects of exposure to sunlight, extreme temperature, moisture or dryness levels (if product must be stored, it should be covered and stored in a humidity/temperature controlled environment away from direct sunlight); (v) damage caused by excessive loads or water contamination; (vi) unauthorized disassembly repair or modification, (vii) damage caused by Acts of God, including natural disasters; (viii) normal incidental deterioration such as nicks, scratches, abrasions and natural aging whether resulting from the effects of normal wear and tear or abnormal use; (ix) damage caused by use of abrasive cleaning chemicals; and (x) products not purchased in, or installed in, Canada. In addition, the following are not covered under this warranty:

  • Any Craft + Main Cabinetry products or parts that have been modified, including use of replacement parts, not provided by FGI Canada Ltd.
  • Installation by a professional contractor is recommended. FGI Canada Ltd., disclaims all responsibility for any damages arising from cabinet installation. In addition, the warranty becomes void if the cabinets are in any way modified, improperly installed or damaged during installation.
  • Claims for which no original receipt and proof of original ownership is provided.
  • Countertops, appliances, plumbing fixtures.
  • Labor related to removal, installation, shipping, freight or other charges incurred in repairing or replacing any product under this warranty.
  • Uses of the product in an outside environment.
  • Unfinished cabinetry.
  • Component parts included in the product that were not manufactured by FGI Canada Ltd. The warranties, if any, on those components are limited to the warranties provided by the original component manufacturer.

Natural woods may vary in color, characteristics and exhibit subtle changes as they age, resulting in cabinet colors and finishes lightening, darkening or changing over time. Also, humidity and temperature changes can cause wood to expand and contract. This can result in breaks in the base or finish coat at the joint areas. Sunlight, smoke, household cleaners, and other environmental conditions may also affect the color and integrity of your finish over time. These are all normal changes that occur in a product as a consequence of its material and the environment it is used in, and are not covered by this warranty. A touch-up kit is provided with the products or can be ordered to reduce the appearance of cracks.

At the time of installation, doors may warp a ¼” or less, which is normal. The doors must be allowed to set which will take two (2) seasons (e.g., spring and summer). Typically, the door will return to its normal flat state after the two seasons, once the product acclimates to the installed environment. If the warpage still exists after two seasons, contact us as noted below. Prior to requesting any replacement, please be sure that the problem is not due to an incorrect installation.

All claims under this warranty must include a reasonable description of the defect and the date and place of purchase. A copy of the original purchaser’s dated receipt must be submitted with all claims to preserve the rights under this warranty. FGI Canada Ltd. reserves the right to inspect the claimed defective product prior to any replacements or repairs being made to verify the product is in compliance with this warranty. If after a product is replaced or repaired by FGI Canada Ltd. under a claim and it is subsequently determined that the product or damage was not covered by this warranty, FGI Canada Ltd. reserves the right to seek reimbursement of the cost of the replacement or repair.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES:

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SETS FORTH THE ONLY WARRANTIES EXTENDED BY FGI CANADA LTD. FOR THE CABINETS AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE LIABILITY OF FGI CANADA LTD. TO THE EXTENT ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES MAY NONETHELESS EXIST BY OPERATION OF LAW, SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION PROVIDED BY LAW.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER, AND FGI CANADA LTD. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR, ANY AND ALL INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOST GOODWILL, CLAIMS OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, RETURN SHIPPING COSTS, SERVICE AND LABOR COSTS, AND EXPENSES RELATED TO UNINSTALLING OR INSTALLING ANY MATERIAL OR PARTS (INCLUDING REPLACEMENT PARTS), WHETHER ARISING OUT OF BREACH OF WARRANTY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF FGI CANADA LTD. HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY THEREOF. FGI CANADA LTD.’S TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR, OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AS SET FORTH ABOVE. IN NO EVENT WILL FGI CANADA LTD.’S ENTIRE LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT WARRANTED HEREUNDER, OR THE NON-CONFORMING PORTION THEREOF, WHICHEVER IS THE LESSER AMOUNT.

This warranty excludes all industrial, commercial and business usage, whose purchasers are hereby extended a one year limited warranty from the date of purchase, with all other terms of this warranty applying except the duration of the warranty.

Some provinces and some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. This warranty is not transferable.

How do you make a warranty claim?

Within thirty (30) days of discovering a defect, please contact FGI Canada Ltd., who will arrange for inspection of product, at 1-888-256-7551 or craftandmaincabinetry@fgi-industries.com. Our Customer Service Department may request samples or pictures of the defective product for evaluation. Do not return any product until our Customer Service Representative issues you a Return/Replacement Goods Authorization Number. In the event that we determine that a product was not defective or that any defect is not covered by this warranty, FGI Canada Ltd. reserves the right to deny replacement of the product. ANY PRODUCTS ALTERED OR DAMAGED DURING INSTALLATION ARE NOT RETURNABLE AND VOID THIS AND ALL WARRANTIES.
